I Was Against it at First

When my son first told me that he wanted to go into the army, I was really against it. I was afraid that he wouldn’t learn anything but how to kill other people. But then he told me about LDRSHIP. It is an acronym that describes what the army believes in, and what it tries to teach its soldiers. It stands for Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage. When I saw that, I realized that my son would be learning a lot of valuable character traits from his service. I am still scared, but I have stopped fighting his choice.
