How do Glowsticks Glow?

A glowstick is simply a piece of plastic tube containing a glass tube inside. This glass tube contains chemicals that will react with the chemicals in the plastic tube to create a glowing light. When someone bends the glowstick, the glass tube inside breaks, allowing the chemicals inside the glass tube to mix with the chemicals outside the glass tube. The chemical reaction that occurs creates a nice soft glow that will last for hours.
The cheap wholesale glow sticks generally work the same way as the more expensive long lasting ones. When refrigerated, these chemicals react more slowly allowing them to be used over a longer period of time…
