Organic Foods Not More Nutritious Shows Study
July 31st, 2009 by admin
A new study has reported that organic foods are no better than non-organic. Some people are prepared to pay the higher prices for what they consider to be healthier foods. It costs up to 10p a pint more for organic milk, while organically reared chickens can cost nearly three times as much as those from battery farms. The Food Standards Agency’s ruling says that there is no difference between how healthy or nutritious the foods are. Britons spend over £2billion a year on such things as fruit, vegetables, eggs and meats produced without the aid of pesticides, artificial fertilisers and intensive farming techniques. Some will now be giving second thoughts as to whether it really is worth paying the extra.
